Green Friday
Ah, Green Friday! Now that’s something that really speaks to me as an avid green thumb. Instead of racing to the shops, or hitting Temu and Amazon with trigger happy fingers, take a step back and think about what truly counts—our beautiful planet.
It’s the perfect time to visit the local plant nursery or farmers market. How about picking up a lovely perennial to brighten up your garden or some seeds to get excited about summer? Feeling a bit crafty? You could spend the day giving old garden tools or materials a new lease on life. It’s amazing what a little creativity can do! Green Friday is all about slowing down, appreciating nature, and making choices that help our earth and ourselves thrive.
And let’s not forget how we can help out our buzzing friends—the bees! Pollinators are so important for a healthy world. For Green Friday all sales over $30, from Friday 29th to December 2nd, will receive a FREE packet of Bee-lightful, a bumper pack of seeds designed to feed and nourish our garden workforce. Plus, they’ll attract other helpful insects and create a vibrant space! You do not need to do anything as they will be added to each qualifying sale.
Why not use Friday as a great reminder to practice composting. Turning kitchen scraps and garden waste into rich soil not only cuts down on waste but gives your plants a little boost too, all while keeping good stuff out of the landfill.
Don’t throw away those old pots or broken tools! With a bit of imagination, they can be transformed into something useful or beautiful. By focusing on sustainable practices, we can make our gardens flourish while caring for the planet. Here’s to making thoughtful choices!
This day can nourish your soul in some pretty meaningful ways:
- Connection with Nature: Spending time outdoors enjoying your garden helps you reconnect with the earth, bringing a nice sense of peace.
- Mindfulness: Digging in the soil and watching your plants grow gives you a chance to slow down and appreciate the moment, which can really help reduce stress.
- Purpose: Making decisions that support the environment gives you a sense of purpose and fulfillment.
- Creativity: Gardening is a fantastic way to express yourself. Designing your space, choosing plants, and repurposing materials can unleash your inner artist.
- Community: Shopping local or getting involved in community gardens connects you with others who share your passion, fostering friendships and a sense of belonging.
- Gratitude: Focusing on sustainability helps you appreciate the resources we have and reflects on how we can care for the earth while enjoying its bounty.
By embracing Green Friday in your own way, you can cultivate both a flourishing garden and a sense of peace that really nourishes your soul. Happy planting! And remember, while we love a good deal, shopping can be a slippery slope. It’s nice to feel good about our purchases, but let’s stick to what truly matters.
