What to plant in July

July is a small planting window for most regions except for the Sub Tropics and Tropics who are in their prime. For the the rest of Australia it is time to put on the thermals, the beanie, a coat and your wellies and warm yourself up with some winter garden time.

Maintenance Time
Why not head out to the shed, and sharpen, clean, and maintain your garden tools and growing containers. Practicing hygiene will prevent the spread of disease.

Green Manure
Green manure crops are good to go now to improve that dormant areas. In cooler to temperate areas you can use crops like like Fava beans or field peas and for warmer areas try mung beans. Remember to chop and drop them before they flower.
