Seed Propagation 

Timing: 

• Sow seeds in spring or autumn to avoid extreme temperatures, ensuring optimal germination conditions. 

Sowing Method: 

• Use shallow containers filled with porous seed raising mix (sandy or loamy). 
• Surface sow seeds, cover with a fine layer of mi. 
• Maintain consistent moisture without waterlogging. 
• Place in a warm, shaded/semi shaded location with temperatures 15–20°C . 

Germination: 

• Expect sprouting in 14–42 days.
• Transplant seedlings once they develop 2–3 true leaves . 

Planting Conditions 

Location: 

• Full sun is critical for vibrant foliage and prolific flowering. 
• Ideal for coastal gardens, dunes, or sandy/well drained soils. 

Soil Requirements: 

• Prefers sandy or sandy loam soils with good drainage.
• Amend heavy soils with sand or organic matter. 
• Tolerates a wide pH range (acidic, neutral, alkaline). 

Spacing: 

• Space plants 1–2m apart for hedging or screening purposes. 

Care and Maintenance 

Watering: 

• Establishment phase: Water deeply 1–2 times weekly. 

 Mature plants:

• Drought tolerant—supplemental watering only during prolonged dry spells. 

Fertilising: 

 Apply low phosphorus native plant fertilizer in spring and autumn. Avoid over fertilising. 

Pruning: 

• Prune lightly after flowering (autumn/winter) to maintain shape and encourage bushiness.
• Suitable for formal hedges. 

Pest/Disease Management: 

• Highly resilient.
• Avoid waterlogged soils to prevent root rot. 

Special Notes: 

• Fire retardant and salt tolerant, making it ideal for coastal and fire prone areas. 
• Foliage is mildly toxic to pets if ingested in large quantities.
