Shelling Pea Massey Gem is a very popular variety for professional farmers and home gardeners. It is the most widely used commercial shelling pea variety for the fresh market in Australia.
These quick maturing dwarf plants grow to 60-75 cm tall and produce large pods containing 8 peas. Â Massey Gem peas taste sweet and are suitable for freezing. They are hardy, disease-resistant and suited to cold areas.
Best for shelling peas from the pod, rather than eating whole but also suitable for snap peas when young. Bush type growing to 1m high with an extended growing season.
