Rosella, also known as the Queensland Jam Plant, is an attractive annual shrub with red stems and red/green leaves, It produces yellow flowers followed by red fleshy fruit that can be eaten fresh but is most commonly used to make jam, tea and other beverages.
Drop a flower in champagne or gin for a sweet, decorative twist. It’s broad leaves are popular in Thai cooking and are used raw or cooked in salad, stir-fries and as a pot herb
Will grow in almost any type of soil but does best in a well drained soil prepared with lots of organic matter and in full sun. Ideally needs 5 or 6 months of warm weather to produce to their full potential.
