Eggplant Tsakoniki is of Greek heritage producing long cylindrical fruit that reaches 22-24 cm long with pale purple and white striped skin. Bushy spreading plant that extremely well adapted to hot climates. It is a reliable and vigorous producer, with fruit are sometimes borne in clusters. it has the life cycle of a perennial when grown in warmer climates.
Ideal for making the Greek dish, moussaka, due to its tender flesh which carries a faint sweetness. It is also commonly used in stews and sauces and it can be baked, fried, stuffed and grilled.
