Cucumber Long White is a white-skinned cucumber that may sound like a weird novelty, but once you’ve tried this variety, you’ll be eager to grow it again. The thin skins don’t have to be removed and have no bitter aftertaste, whilst the crispy flesh has a fresh tangy flavour with a hint of apple.
The fruits grow to 18cm in length and around 6 cm in diameter. A vigorous vine that can be grown on a trellis to save space.
To make it even more attractive, this old Australian favourite is resistant to downy mildew, a common problem with many other varieties and it bears heavily.
They are good in salads, sandwiches or pickled.
