Description
Bean Kentucky Wonder is a great heirloom climbing bean producing high yields of tasty dark green beans. The fleshy bean pods grow to 17 – 24 cm long with a flattened curve. Also known as Old Homestead, this been is an heirloom from before 1864.
An all-purpose bean that tastes great fresh, and is suitable for freezing and canning. For a tender, stringless bean, harvest when they are young and around 10 cm in length.
When left to fully mature, Kentucky Wonder is a good shelling bean. They are a vigorous grower and rust resistant. Harvest yields are improved by continuous picking.
