Basil Anise with its warm, sweet anise flavour is great with Italian, Thai dishes and Indian Sabzi dishes. It is also a great tea herb.
It has a decorative purple flush to its foliage and light pink flower spikes making a very attractive addition to the herb garden.
It is very easy to grow in virtually any location and does best in a light, well-drained soil.
The flavour is quite strong, so use it sparingly and remember to dry some for the off-season to save you having to buy it.
Try sprinkling some basil flowers into salads. They look and taste great!
